KERASTASE HOME FRAGRANCE

Nothing beats that feeling of stepping out of the salon with freshly pampered hair that looks and smells divine! And it’s not for nothing- 75% of our emotions generated throughout the day are directly related to smell. Whether it’s the fragrance of a beautiful rose or your favourite hair product, scents play a big part in how we feel and can instantly lift our moods or ease stress. So why not bring that post-salon sensation home?

While stocks last you can enjoy a complimentary Kerastase diffuser when you purchase 2 or more products.

Choosing the right scent

We believe that the way products smell is very important, turning something every day like washing into your hair an indulgent and luxurious ritual. Well now you can bring those sublime fragrances into your home! Envelop your senses with a Kerastase home fragrance diffuser, and let the journey begin.

There is one fragrance for each of the 4 bestselling ranges:

Reflection home fragrance

Fresh lemony notes riff off the powerful wooden base notes, striking a harmonious balance whilst the fresh floral heart will have you drifting into a dreamy haze… an idyllic scent for the romantic at heart.

Nutritive home fragrance

Top notes of fresh citrus give this scent its crisp energy and mood-lifting boost. Just underneath sparkles lavender, giving base notes of white musk space to breathe for an incredible sensation of lightness that envelops any room with a breeze of well-being.

Resistance home fragrance

For those who like to get up and go! Tasty top notes open with fresh effervescence and bite, before the sweetheart notes give way to a captivating and delicately floral musk. An uplifting scent to start the day right.

Elixir Ultime home fragrance

Melt into this elegant fragrance. Delicately sunny top notes come in the form of mandarin, whilst violet petals add a refined touch. Amber tones of sandalwood ground the scent, giving it a warm and woody aura for that feeling of long summer nights, whatever the season.

FRINGE BENEFITS

GROWING OUT A FRINGE

At some stage we’ve all had a fringe. Sometimes it works out and sometimes it doesn’t. If you are the latter then my advice to get yourself down to the salon and ask your Stylist to re-adjust the shape of your fringe to allow it to grow in a less ‘curtain’ style way.

It may mean altering the parting or channeling your inner Bridget Bardot with central hanging bangs.

PIXIE CUT

GROWING OUT A PIXIE CUT

A pixie haircut is sadly seen quite rarely due to the dreaded fear of the growing out stage. There is nothing I love more than a well suited, tailored pixie cut but if you are wanting to start growing yours out, here are my top tips:

Don’t boycott the salon- Keep up with haircuts every 4-6 weeks and ask your Stylist to cut the back of your hair while the sides and top are growing. This will ensure you avoid the ‘Mullet’ stage.

Ask your Stylist to recommend different haircuts while your hair is growing. Keeping it in shape is essential so you don’t get sick of it and have it all cut off again.

Make sure you are using high quality professional haircare. For hair to grow in a healthy way it, optimum condition is essential.

Embrace your natural hair texture and try to avoid over styling.

And if you still can’t stand the in-between stage – head to a hair extension specialist for a consultation. The transformations hair extensions give now days are incredible and worth the investment if your hair is suitable.

ID ARTIST

Earlier this summer Lorna, senior stylist at the Old Hall, successfully auditioned to become a L’Oreal ID Artist. Led by some of the hairdressing industry’s biggest names, ID ARTISTS are coached in the latest catwalk looks, cut and styling techniques, session hairdressing, product innovation and the latest L’Oréal Professionnel seasonal trends. The two-year mentoring programme covers both colour and cutting and styling and has become one of the most sought-after educational opportunities for young hairdressers, inspiring those with an eye for fashion and unique creative expression

LORNA’S DIARY

As I attended the introduction to ID Artist in Leeds I was feeling super excited about the two year journey that I am about to start with L’Oréal. The first day’s session involved learning the importance of social media in the hair styling industry, getting colour trend savvy for AW/17 and a preview of L’Oréal’s new metallic colour range. In addition to this I got to see a demo of two different hair cuts from Saks art team members.
The session ended with Andrew Barton giving us all an insight into the world of being a celebrity hairdresser. Listening to Andrew’s career was very inspiring and left me feeling more motivated than ever to improve and develop my skills as a hair stylist. At the end of the day all of the member’s of the ID artist team’s were invited to a night of bowling, food and drinks. This was a really nice opportunity to meet more of the great people who I will be working and training alongside in the coming years.
During the second day at ID Artist I learned the importance of presenting yourself properly on stage and how to engage with an audience and keep them interested. There was a hands-on styling session with Luke Pluckrose (a session stylist with Saks) and a cutting session with Sarah Clarke-Lees (a member of the Saks art team). These sessions were great as I learned new sectioning techniques and how to use them to create a choppy, layered haircut. We then finished the day with a team building exercise which involved all of the groups acting out a Disney film of their choice.
My first two day’s at ID Artist were amazing and I cannot wait for the next event!
